Welcome to the YouTube channel of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

Our role

We aim to enhance society through improved animal health and welfare. We do this by setting, upholding and advancing the educational, ethical and clinical standards of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

What we do

As a statutory regulator, we are responsible under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 for maintaining the UK Register of Veterinary Surgeons eligible to practise, setting standards for veterinary education and regulating the professional conduct of vets.

We also regulate vet nurses through our Royal Charter, including maintaining the Register of Veterinary Nurses and overseeing professional standards. The charter also enables us to award fellowships, diplomas and certificates.
