I’m Carter, an American traveler and filmmaker living in Coimbra, Portugal, and the creator of Atypical Vagabond.

This channel is about discovering the Portugal most travelers miss: medieval villages, historic cities, mountain communities, wild landscapes, local culture, and the places hiding between Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve.

I also document meaningful journeys like the Camino de Santiago, including my walk along the Camino Francés across northern Spain.
