NekoAshi Japan
We are an Australian couple in our 50s who took on the challenge of buying and restoring a traditional Japanese house, built in 1868, through Japan's Akiya Bank system - on tourist visas.
Our home, once a thriving sake brewery, sits between the stunning Iwami Highlands and the Sea of Japan, nestled in a vibrant farming village just outside a small but lively coastal city of Masuda, Shimane Prefecture.
Join us as we explore the rich culture, history, and hidden gems of this beautiful part of Japan and share the journey of bringing our traditional Japanese house back to life after 12 years abandoned, all whilst balancing life between Australia and Japan.
